Argentine-Dutch conductor Hernán Schvartzman is an award-winning and versatile artist who feels equally at home conducting top historically informed ensembles and cutting-edge contemporary music groups, as well as leading international large-scale opera productions and symphonic concerts.
Based in The Hague, he has led renowned ensembles such as the Netherlands Bach Society, ASKO|Schoenberg, Vox Luminis, the Dutch Radio Choir, and the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra. As musical leader of OPERA2DAY, Hernán has shaped some of the most acclaimed Dutch opera productions of the past decade, including La Troupe d'Orphée (Opera of the Year 2014) and the world premiere of Tsoupaki's Mariken in the Garden of Delights. A graduate cum laude of the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague, where he now teaches, he has collaborated with institutions from the BBC National Orchestra of Wales to Teatro Argentino de La Plata. Recognised as a Musical Top Talent and Cultural Ambassador of The Hague, Hernán brings together precision, imagination, and emotional depth in performances that bridge continents, styles, and centuries.
